This week has been very hard. Wild Man was recovering from pnuemonia, Robert was trying to not get it and was up most nights coughing while also taking a J term all day. On Friday he coughed so hard he messed up his back again and has been laid up since then (recovering quickly though). Tuesday, after a whole week of Jack not eating much of anything and not drinking and still losing weight I finally decided maybe he wasn't just stressed, but sick. So we took him to the vet. The vet believes he has lymphoma cancer and will not survive much longer at all. He had lost 21 pounds by the time we got to the vet. We have him at home now and he is till eating and drinking almost nothing. He is still able to walk and climb up into the van for a ride. He shows some excitement at the mention of going for a ride. We opened his christmas gift early because we aren't sure if he will survive until Christmas. But he doesn't have the stomach to eat the treats. : ( This is super hard on the kids, especially the older ones. We have been very honest with them and right now, we are praying as a family that the Lord will either heal him or allow him to die at home. Currently, I am trying to get pictures of him with the littlest ones because they won't remember him. I'm really hoping to get a picture of all the kids will with him tomorrow. Jack is 7.5 years old. We adopted him when he was 11 weeks old, Tender was 5, Hurricane was 2, and The Boy was 10 months old. It's very sad right now around our home.

So sorry to hear you all are battling with such illnesses. Praying Robert and Wild man recover very soon. We lost Smore our little Jack Russell after having her for 10 years. Jerry got her when she was 6 weeks old. She started getting tumors when she was around 6 yrs old and we had two very large ones removed from her belly. Eventually they grew back and then started growing other places and took over her body. It was so very sad and hard to lose her. She was such a part of our family. Every time we thought of taking her to the vet and having her put down she would rally back up and start playing and acting like she was feeling better. Then the week prior to us moving Jerry came home and found her gone in her bed. She had always known the farm as her home and was free to roam about as she pleased so she couldn't have taken the move away from it back to AR. That's why I gave in and got this little Rat Terrier puppy. Oh my goodness she is a mess! I don't know what I was thinking other than Jerry was so lonely without Smore and wanted another dog to fill the void. We rescued her from a farm in Pea Ridge. She was the runt of the litter and they was going to kill her if we didn't take her. We've had her for 9 months now and I she will be turning 1 toward the end of January. I can't wait until she gets out of the puppy stage of chewing up everything and I mean everything!!! Praying for peace for you and your sweet children to get through this difficult time with your Jack.
