Okay, that was a lazy title. Robert is just finishing his fourth semester in Seminary. He is still working out on a regular basis but he hurt his back a couple weeks ago again so he has been doing easier work outs. It wasn't serious. He seems to hurt it a little every few months. His birthday was November 1 and he turned 36! I baked him his favorite german chocolate cake. I am doing the same old, same old. Home educating, discipling, grocery shopping, cooking, etc. It seems like in one day I swing from feeling so much joy over these kiddos to wanting to pull my hair out over how often I must discipline for the same thing from the same child. I pray for discernment, wisdom, and endurance constantly. I try to go to the Y for working out twice a week and I still need to lose a good bit of pregnancy weight. I take Seminary Wives Institute classes every Thursday night while Robert takes the kids and I enjoy that very much. Tender has started attending Chinese review classes every Saturday and always looks forward to that. She is old enough that she babysits a couple of the younger kids sometimes so that grocery shopping is easier for me. She runs around the neighborhood with some friends she has made. Hurricane isn't doing anything much new. Just playing outside and playing with friends from church. She recently fixed up a typewriter and has been playing with that. The Boy made a friend his age in our neighborhood and has enjoyed the freedom of going over to his house to play in the backyard for a short time. He insisted on trying dairy recently to see if he had outgrown it. He has not outgrown his allergy. Wild Man had himself an abscessed tooth a couple weeks ago and has been struggling with illness since then. We are trying to get him healthy in time for Thanksgiving but he is still doing good. He still plays and goofs off and get into trouble. ; ) Hulk is doing well. He is talking more and sometimes he gets on the floor and tries to crawl with his "baby buh buh". He loves Thomas the train right now and is doing great at potty training. He makes the funnest faces. Bug is growing and having fun. He is not walking yet but is pulling himself up and trying to keep up with his older brothers. His first birthday was October 28th! So sad, that first year is gone forever! On to bigger and faster things. He is currently pushing up his third and fourth teeth. Here is a passage that I have been meditating on for encouragement in parenting and teaching my kiddos: "For he (man) is rightly instructed; his God teaches him. Dill is not threshed with a threshing sledge, nor is a cart wheel rolled over cumin, but dill is beaten out with a stick, and cumin with a rod. Does one crush grain for bread? No, he does not thresh it forever; when he drives his cart wheel over it with his horses, he does not crush it. This also comes from the Lord of hosts; He is wonderful in counsel and excellent in wisdom." Isaiah 28:26-29 If the Lord knows even small details about how to harvest grains and herbs (because he created EVERYTHING) then He surely knows what my children need and how they need to learn it and he will provide that instruction for me. I am rightly instructed, for God teaches me. : )
