I'm endeavoring to make a post every Friday. I failed last week, but I'm finishing this up now. Last weekend Robert took the three kids willing to Texas with him to visit some family. They had a lot of fun and us at home got a good rest. Hulk went to Texas and Bug stayed home, so that was a little hard on them. Bug cried every night when he went to bed, missing his big brother. When they returned from their trip at 8:30pm Monday night I thought that Bug would never fall asleep he was so excited to have Hulk back. I had three full days of only homeschooling The Boy and Hurricane and it was amazing how easy it was! We had a lot of fun and I even took a couple of naps. When the whole crew got back we got back into the swing of things as quick as possible. Below are two ways that I organize our school records. In the state of Indiana you have to do 180 days of formal education to qualify as legally homeschooling. So I made a document that I could make tally marks to keep track of where we were, that way I don't have to go through and recount each individual day of the details of what we did. The daily detail records help me keep track of where to pick up the next day or after a weekend away. I typically don't make future lesson plans. I have a rough idea of what I want to finish and we just chip away at it everyday without too much pressure of a designated finish line. Unless we have a field trip planned on a particular subject or I assign a project or paper.
