Merry Christmas to all of our family and friends! I pray that if you are already trusting in Jesus for your salvation and only hope that your affections will be renewed and grown this season as you meditate on what it meant for our creator to humble himself and come to our fallen world, born so that He might die. That if you are going through trials, troubles, or feeling like a failure that you might think on what Mary and Joseph experienced surrounding Jesus' birth. Likely condemned by friends for Mary's pregnancy out of wedlock, Joseph's scrambling to have some place, ANY place ready for the Son of God to be born in. They likely were overwhelmed with a sense of failure and stress because they were bringing this holy child into the world in a stable, with little money, and unable to return home because they had to flee to Egypt as refugees. They likely felt like they weren't doing enough when every little detail was planned by their heavenly Father. If you are not trusting in Jesus for your salvation and only hope then I pray that you would run out of things to put your hope in. I pray that all the temporary things that promise temporary joy will disintegrate and leave you searching for something eternal. That this season, your heart will be softened and eyes opened and you will choose to turn to Him who is your only hope for all eternity, starting now. Without the birth of Jesus, none of us would have any hope. Celebrate His birth, becasue without the condescension of Son of God, we would not have the cross and ressurection. His birth is worthy of celebrating greatly!
