Okay, so I just have a quick story to share about Cal's last night before he started not peeing the bed. For over a week and half of the potty training he had been peeing a TON everynight, and I just was changing sheets and washing towels everyday (because we went to underwear at night as well as during the day). AND he happened to always be a nighttime pooper as well. Usually reserving it for morning, just before he got up, but sometimes even waking up at 4 or 5am needing to be changed. Sooo, I was dreading this. But ready, none the less. Six nights ago at 3:40am I woke to Cal placing Darby's dress, one of her shoes, a toy car, and Darby's toy stapler onto my bed beside me. This shocked me, because I had his monitor on so that if he got up and needed to pee (or, more realistically, needed his sheets changed) I would hear him open his door. Well, that particular night I had taken some Calms Forte before bed, so I must've slept through it. So, I got up, realised he had pooped in his pants and went through the normal drill of changing his underwear, cleaning his bed and putting him to back to bed. While I did this I noticed other things that were "off" around the house. The girls' bedroom door was opened, and Cal's lovey was in the office. He ran to get it before I ushered him to bed. I didn't feel like investigating at that time of night, so I went onto bed. Turning up the monitor so that I would hear him if he got up again.
The next morning I checked things out. It turns out, the child got up at some point well before 3:40am. Went to the office and rummaged around, found a small screwdriver that we use on toys that need batteries, and took that, and his golfclub into the girls room. Judging by the disarray of the room (it having been cleaned before bed), he got out some art supplies, markered on several pieces of paper, went through all of Darby art supplies (hence, the stapler), markered on himself, and played some golf. All while his sisters slept in there! Cal is quite strange about speaking sometimes. Whenever he does get up in the middle of the night and comes to get me, he has NEVER woken me (like his sisters), he just stands by my bed staring at me until I wake. It's so freaky to wake up (probably to the sound of him breathing, because I AM a mom, and that is usually enough to wake me) and just see your kid standing there staring at you with a blank stare. ANYWAY, he goofed off in the girls' room, played with some cars in his room, and then brought me some gifts at 3:40am. And ever since, he's slept through the night, keeping his underwear dry!
