Well, we are in a friend's house who has internet today so I thought I would do a quick update for anyone interested. And then some pictures. Last week we went and saw several houses but then found out that the same bank we used for a home loan last time (USAA, military bank) is turning us down now because Robert is working two part time jobs and hasn't been at either for at least a year. Regulations say for part time jobs you have to have been there consistently for at least a year before you can get a loan. So despite the reasoning for his circumstance and that our credit is super duper great AND that we just did a successful home loan with them, it's a no go. Meanwhile, through a yearly medical exam and a random conversation at the VA, they found out our living situation and said that technically we are homeless. Which sent our wait for help from 9-12 months to about 4-6 weeks! Also, they have a rental program for "homeless" veterans and since our family is so big we would be shoved to the top of the list. So we are going through this rental program and praying for a rental house that is affordable. Robert has been greatly humbled by all the workers at the VA through this and is amazed at God's care in this time of need for us. He says everyone there is bending over backwards to love and care for him. Also, after a closer eval for PTSD they are recommending counseling for him for 2-3 times a week. He will be going through a biblical centered book on PTSD with a few guys from our Bible study as well. The nursing home job has been a great blessing and obviously the Lord's will for Robert right now but is very hard on him emotionally. We are very thankful that it is only two days a week for now and praying for the healing it will take for him to increase his hours there. We have had our share of difficulties in the RV life. Which include frozen water lines 5-6 times in last 4 weeks. Gusts of wind up to 40 mph leaving the whole place rocking! Brakers consistently blowing at the slightest provocation! My having to go to a friend's house every other day to do two loads of laundry and having to bring all of our homeschool supplies too so we don't miss every other day! Five minutes of hot water for a shower, and as a pregnant woman, can I just say, that is unacceptable! Ha! And today, which is the windiest yet, causing a power outage that affected dozens of miles! Which is why I have the blessing of the internet at a friend's to type this! Our new baby is growing and so am I subsequently! We had a prenatal about a week and a half ago and heard the heartbeat and everything seems to be going smoothly! I'm laying my bet on a baby girl this time because of my symptoms and I would also wager that she has been going through a growth spurt the last couple days because I feel stretched to capacity!! I am 18 weeks along now and for the most part the nausea has subsided only to rear it's ugly head when the dog pukes on the carpet. ; ) Also, another huge blessing is the health care we are using is Samaritan Ministries. It's a medical share program for christians. And they are such a fan home birth that they pay every penny of the midwife costs, plus the birthing kit! HA!! I felt like doing a happy dance when we found that out! The kids are having a blast outside with this great weather! It's so wonderful outside the RV! We are trying to keep up with home education with Bible, Math, and reading aloud a lot. We also do copy work and Darby enjoys writing for fun, but that counts as education too! They are HUGE into Lego Star Wars video game!! But it's soooo funny because none of them have seen the movies so they have named the characters as they please!! So Queen Padme (when she has her "ugly" make up on) is called "Princess poofy face", R2D2 is called Robo Dodo, Luke Skywalker is Jasper, and the Ewoks are Teddies. There are several more but I can't remember them right now. They play that game in any free time they have and Deakin shrieks at the tv when R2D2 comes on "Robo Dodo!!!!" One of my new favorite things we have been doing for the last several months for copy work is a Copy Can (maybe I've already shared about this??). I've filled it with quotes and Bible verses and everyday the girls pick one, read it and write it. Recently at church our pastor was fixing to quote Jonathan Edward's famous first two resolutions and I nudged Bryse and she was so excited because she had them memorized from the Copy Can! So, here are a few of the ones I have in the Copy Can for you! I love sharing quotes! “The complaint that church is boring is never made by people in awe.” R.C. Sproul “Since love grows within you, so beauty grows. For love is the beauty of the soul.” Saint Augustine “It is human to err, but it is devilish to remain willful in error.” Saint Augustine “A dog barks when his master is attacked. I would be a coward if I saw that God’s truth is attacked and yet would remain silent.” John Calvin “Prayer is a shield to the soul, a sacrifice to God, and a scourge to Satan.” John Bunyan “Lord, stamp eternity on my eyeballs.” Jonathan Edwards “Resolution one: I will live for God. Resolution two: If no one else does, I still will.” Jonathan Edwards “I am but a poor infant, upheld by Jesus Christ; who holds me up, and gives me liberty to smile to see my enemies flee, when he drives them before me.” Jonathan Edwards “Education without values, as useful as it is, seems rather to make man a more clever devil.” C.S. Lewis “Failure are the finger posts on the road to achievement.” C.S. Lewis That is only about 1/4 of them. I'll share more next time! Well, that is all for now! Thanks for dropping by and keeping up with us and thanks for the prayers I know your saying for us!
