Love this song. It's all about the sin of pride and self absorbtion. Reminds me of the "Mommy Wars". Envy with lyrics: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yqzcwi-kvJA Tender turned 10 on November 27th!! Her and I had a shopping day on the Saturday before to celebrate. And then, of course, I cooked whatever she wanted for the meals on her actual birthday. She actually chose to have ice cream instead of cake!! The Boy turns 5 on Decemeber 4th! I already have his "orders" for the meals on Wednesday and he wants to go bowling. So the Saturday after his birthday we are going to have cake with friends and then go to the bowling alley. : ) Robert is doing well. Counseling is going great, his job is wonderful, and spiritually he is doing very well. Resting in the peace of the Lord! The house is still up for sale and if it doesn't sale then we will put it up for rent next month. Robert is praying for leading in where we are going from here. Our goal is to stay in this area because we love our church and friends here. Right now we are planning on heading to a house in Salina to live, which is an hour commute, but we can't beat the price in this area. If that is what we will end up doing then I will share more details later. Tender is doing very well. Her struggles with anxiety have seemed to have gotten better. I think she is acting more like a child. We've tried to put rules in place to keep her "fenced in" to childhood, in a sense. I can tell a difference in the last couple of weeks. Her school work is going well. We have been learning about the solar system, ancient Egypt, the passover, ancient Mesopotamia, and the scientific method. We are working on finishing up the book of Exodus. This year's school year has been so much easier and funner than last year! And that is counting the outbursts of bad attitudes, the rebellion of a new first grader that isn't used to being made to work and the constant fight to teach Tender to not boss everyone around. Things aren't perfect but I am shocked at how much a curriculum change can make things so much better! At this stage in our lives, Unit studies are our friend! Hurricane is having a hard time with the upcoming changes. She has never been a fan of change. She has almost mastered a head stand by herself! The Boy is doing great at speech therapy and is consumed with all things cow boyish. I told Robert this morning that The Boy is devastatingly handsome! But don't you dare tell him that! He takes it as an insult to be called anything but cool or strong. Wild Man is wild. He is talking like crazy! He's learned his own name and is talking in short sentences. He and The Boy have become very talented at wrestling and our homeschool work is typically done around them rolling on the floor like puppies! They chase and tackle and yell all day long!! It's super fun! I'm way passed needing to potty train him but I'm holding out hope that we will be moving into a smaller house in January and will start once we get settled in. |
